As per usual was looking for something else and found a lot on “founder’s syndrome”, including this: Founder’s syndrome.  It affects nonprofits and for-profits alike.  And it can be crippling to any organization.  Understanding what it is and how to avoid it is crucial to the future of your 501(c)(3).  Taken from that most-reputable of sources, Wikipedia, founder’s syndrome is defined as, “a pattern of negative or undesirable behavior on the part of the founder(s) of an organization”.  While that can be true, we find that most cases of founder’s syndrome within nonprofits simply involve a founder with too much influence.  In plain English, it means that the universe revolves around the founder…and not in a good way.  Here is an example of the way it usually works.  Read more….  [...]

I had my last day here at Kampong Speu and had a field trip of nine villages. After a beautiful dinner with everyone at SSF center, the ice cream club meet back at the guest house picture above.[...]
On sunday I went with the kids for a field trip out to a temple. It was about an hours walk but everyone had a great time.[...]
The man next door to us here in Kampong Speu died the other day. He was in his forties and leaves a wife ( just 40) and 9 kids all very young with the youngest only months old. life will be even more of a struggle for this family. Yesterday a big tent was erected and the funeral started. The funeral music played all day into the night and is continuing today.  The coffin was put in the front of the property and burnt sometime last night.  [...]
